Thank you Dwayne for sharing information with readers!  -The SCBC, Inc.

Where are you from? I’m from Brooklyn, NY, but currently live in Maryland with my wife and daughters.

Tell us your latest news? My novel The Womanizers will be released in September of this year and was just picked up by Black Expressions.

Who or what has influenced your writing, and in what way? Carl Weber, Eric Jerome Dickey, Travis Hunter, Marcus Major… these guys have shown me how to craft a well written story from the male perspective.

How has your environment/upbringing colored your writing? The characters in my books are people I know. I also tend to have multi-racial characters as my friends come from different backgrounds.

What genre are you most comfortable writing? I can and have written mystery-suspense stories as well as contemporary relationship novels. I can also write street fiction.

Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp? I try to tell an entertaining tale, but I do have messages sprinkled throughout. Some about friendship, some about how to treat your man or woman, etc.

How much of the novel is realistic? Even though it’s fiction, I’d say all of it. I draw from personal experience and the experiences of my friends as well.

What books have most influenced your life? Married Men, Four Guys and Trouble, Disappearing Acts, all of Eric Jerome Dickey’s books, The Hearts of Men.

What are you reading now? Dad Interrupted by Van Whitfield.. absolutely HILARIOUS!!!

What new author has grasped your interest? Eric E. Pete, Suzette D. Harrison, La Jill Hunt, Thomas Long, Roy Glenn…all great writers with great voices!

What are your current projects? I’m currently working on the follow up to The Womanizers, titled Never Say Never—a title that I came up with!

Do you feel that the boom in African American writers is a fad or another renaissance? On one level, the interest is a renaissance…on another level, it is a fad.

Do you feel more African Americans are reading? Definitely.

Do you see writing as a long- or short-term career? Definitely long-term!

Is there anything additional you would like to share with your readers? Watch out for The Womanizers in September, and thank you for your e-mails and reviews. Keep them coming, because believe me I will keep the stories coming.
