God's Word for the
Unmarried Believer
Walk Worthy Press |
With applicable
scriptures to life situations, God’s Word for the Unmarried Believer
is a good, compact guide to accompany one’s Bible study. The chapter
introductions help the reader put into perspective the personal situation,
and prepares them for relevant biblical answer/application. Although for
the unmarried, any believer could benefit from this book.

P.G. County
Connie Briscoe |
Again, Connie Briscoe
has done an outstanding job with PG County! Her writing style was clear
and crisp. It left you wondering and curious about what was about to
happen next after turning the page. The characters reminded me of friends
and family in my own community. I could not wait to pick it up each
evening to read. -SC |

The Savvy Sistahs
Brenda Jackson |
Three sisters friends Amber, Brandy and
Carla called the ABC's form and bond in the name of sisterhood. These
three ladies meet yearly to hold their own "sistah circle" gathering.
All three are successful businesswomen who have had their share of "men"
problems. Together these three sister go through their share of heartbreak
and new found love.
This is not your average girlfriend novel and is an excellent story of
women who rely on their faith in their friendship, faith in GOD, and hope
of love to pull them through.

Texas Heat
Cinnamon, Sepia, and Sterling |
This book is for MATURE audience only. If this
were a movie it would definitely get an NC-25 rating--meaning grown folks
only.
The name does not do the book justice. It’s hotter than any Texas summer!
This book is divided into four, very descriptive novellas! I couldn't put
it down and finished it in one day! For those of you that enjoy stories by
authors such as Zane, then Texas Heat will definitely burn you.

One Day I Saw A
Black King
J.D. Mason |
JD has
done it again! Superb job at composing a romance thriller. The
characters were right on point. I enjoyed reading a book in a
setting where I grew up and currently reside. The end of the book
had me still imagining...days after completing.

Sugar
Bernice McFadden |
Great work by McFadden and
I enjoyed her writing style. Pearl is a symbol of what we all should
be about - not judging each other - but loving one another
unconditionally. Sugar was an amazing woman during the times in
which she lived and in a small town of Bigelow. Very compassionate piece.

A Hustler's
Wife
Nikki Turner |
The glamorous life of money, cars, designer
clothes and envy was the sell of being with a hustler. The intrigue of
danger and outside the lines living, brings a dark side that is such a
heavy price to pay. Taylor brings the street life to your reading room
with complex characters and true grit drama.
This story of survival is happening in every
city USA, the reader should be careful not to assume otherwise.

The
Man in the Basement
Walter Mosley |
Easy to understand why
someone behind on the mortgage and in desperate need of money would agree
to a roommate. In this departure from Mosley usual style this story weaves
a stream of questions until the very end. Instead of gaining a roommate you
become a warden and caretaker.
This is an easy to read, fun weekend reader perfect for the patio lounger.

Tomorrow May Never
Come
Linda Hudson Smith |
A reader can appreciate the
stories that Mrs. Smith shares. The characters are likable and the
plots realistic. Tomorrow May Never Come speaks of the
realities of true love and love lost...it is romantic and real.
Great writing that helps
us capture what was lost and finding what is yours. -LC |

Some Things I Never
Thought I'd Do
Pearl Cleage |
The perfect light weight drama splashed with
romance, intuition, political power plays, family ties, male
champions and the street life. It was all included and our shero (Gina)
put her past mistakes behind her and continued on with the business of
making today the best it can be. I enjoyed the fact that Gina had her eye
on the prize. Gina needed money and needed her life to have value
and meaning. The questions is how can she accomplish both and a
track record proving she is less than perfect.
This was fun to read, perfect to kick off summer! I wanted more. -VRS

Red Light Wives
Mary Monroe |
Brilliant, Mary Monroe writes for the real
folks. All of her books have a twinge of the true to life, but this one
bring in the possibilities of "I could see myself doing that."
Women have sold themselves for money for a variety of reasons and we
experience it all in this book. Working for a pimp named Clyde the women
try to make sense of life and all that it has to offer. It is so easy to
feel sorry for the characters and even easier to understand why they have
chosen the oldest profession, in hopes of better lives.
I enjoy Mary Monroe and number five is another page turner. -VRS |

drive me crazy
Eric Jerome Dickey |
Eric Jerome Dickey's book, Drive Me Crazy,
begins with riveting intrigue. Driver, an ex-convict, accepts $15,000 to
kill Lisa's husband, Wolf, but is unable to carry out the plan. In a twist
of fate, Wolf hires Driver as a chauffeur at his limousine company, who
becomes becomes crazed and caught in the middle
of three female characters.
There's the woman who loves him, the woman who
has been scorned, and the woman who lusts for him. This book is a definite
page-turner.

Shifting Through Neutral
Bridgett M. Davis |
Rae Rae was an extraordinary strong child.
She dreamed of love from a mother that would not give it to her for
whatever reasons. The love for her father was profound and like no
other. This book has a serious tone - but yet sensitive and a calm
read. -SC

No Woman No Cry
Rita Marley |
Rita Marley shares a very insightful account
of life with famous husband, Bob Marley.
She is open and honest about being his wife
and the various events that share her and the Marley clan. I
appreciate the stories and the personal photos of the Marley's. Good
read... -LC |

Boaz Brown
Michelle Stimpson |
This is a refreshing novel that focuses on a
soul rather than physical connection between lovers. Stimpson uses thought
provoking themes to pull the reader in which results in a connection with
the characters. -DM |
